Why we recommend using
your Microsoft Account.

Microsoft work or school account

When using your Microsoft Account to create a Kudzu tenant, you are prompted to grant consent for Kudzu to access SharePoint and Power Platform APIs. This results in a superior user experience as it facilitates the creation of connections using the currently logged in user. It is also a more secure implementation, as no credentials (user, Azure AD app-only, etc.) need to be stored by Kudzu because Microsoft authenticates the user.

NOTE: while Kudzu’s Azure App Registration doesn’t require any permissions that need Administrator Consent, some organizations opt to block users without Administrator permissions from using 3rd party applications without Administrator Consent. If your organization requires Administrator Consent for any 3rd party application, you will need to enlist the help of an AAD Administrator before you will be able to access Kudzu yourself. Alternatively, if you choose to create a Kudzu account you will need to provide user credentials or create an Azure AD app-only principal. Be assured that any credentials provided to Kudzu are encrypted using military-grade AES-256.

NOTE: multi-factor authentation is not supported for username/password connections created within Kudzu Accounts. If your organization uses MFA, you will need to use your Microsoft work or school account to create and log into your Kudzu tenant.
